Цели урока: знакомство с творчеством Ж. Верна; развитие памяти, образного мышления, воображения, умения прогнозировать, способности к сравнению лексических единиц;
воспитание интереса к литературе зарубежных стран; развитие навыков поискового и изучающего чтения, восприятия на слух информации, активизация лексических единиц в речи учащихся.

I. Организационный момент.
Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you! How are you?
II. Речевая зарядка.
1. What lessons do you have today?
2. Have you got literature?
3. What are you reading now?
4. Do you like to read?
III. Целеполагание.
1. Open your books on p. 88 and look at the pictures and the title of the text.
2. What are we going to speak today about? (Literature).
3. Do you know Jules Verne?
4. Have you read this book before?
5. Who are the characters in the picture?
6. What are they about to do?
IV. Проверка домашнего задания.
Do you know how to get ready for a trip? Your home task was to make leaflets with some tips for travelers.
V. Аудирование.
Ex.2a p. 88. What do you think Phileas Fogg and Passepartout took with them on their trip? Listen and read to find out (a carpet bag with 4 shirts and 6 pairs of stockings, money).
VI. Чтение.
1. Ex. 2b p. 88. Read again and complete the gaps (1-6) with the phrases below.
2. Answer some questions:
Why was Passepartout surprised?
What did Phileas Fogg put on?
What were they going to travel by?
What Phileas Fogg’s action touched Passepartout’s heart?
