Look at the board, please! You see 6 sentences. You are going to listen (audio) to these sentences. Circle the examples of HAVE where it is weak. Underline the examples of HAVE when it is stressed. Before that, let’s revise the rule.

Rule: “have” is pronounced in its strong form when it’s in a final position.

Ex. We must have. We ate the soup.

Otherwise, it’s pronounced in a weak form.

Ex. Oh no! I can’t have lost my keys again!

Let’s revise phrasal verbs.

You have a poster on your desks with definitions of phrasal verbs. There are some phrasal verbs around the class.

The task is to find them and match phrasal verbs and their definitions.










Look at the screen! There some halves of the sentences with phrasal verbs. Match them.







They are Modals of deduction (Логические модальные глаголы) in Past.


Rule: To make guesses about the past, we use must, might(not), can(not)/could(not)+have+Past Participle.
