Тип урока: урок совершенствования навыков
Цель урока:
Формирование коммуникативной компетенции по теме: научить употреблять изучаемую лексику, практиковать в неподготовленном аргументированном высказывании;
Задачи урока:
практическая: развитие умения аудирования с целью извлечения информации; развитие умения читать с целью извлечения нужной или интересующей информации; формировать речевую деятельность учащихся на базе новой лексики;
развивающая: развивать память и мыслительную деятельность учащихся, развитие способности к анализу, обобщению, развитие способности к языковой догадке в целях расширения их потенциального лексического запаса, развивать умения аргументировать свою точку зрения, делать вывод, подводить итоги;
образовательная: расширение кругозора учащихся, развитие универсальных умений, позволяющих совершенствовать учебную деятельность по овладению английским языком;
воспитательная: формировать нравственный, позитивный режим общения при обмене мнениями, повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка.

Ход урока
1. Организационный момент.
Good morning. Glad to see you here and I’d like to start our lesson with the topic of our lesson today. I want you to watch the pictures and say what we’re going to discuss at the lesson.

T: So, what is topic of our lesson?

T: Can you give the definition to the word “extreme’.
Ps: Еxtreme describes activity that is very dangerous. Еxtreme sports – sports that are exciting but also dangerous.
3. Речевая разминка.
What extreme sports do you know?
There are different types of extreme sports, for example, rock climbing, rafting, scuba diving, surfing, snowboarding, parachuting, hang-gliding, bungee jumping etc.
Extreme sports are becoming more and more popular, aren’t they?
Yes, of course. Many people today go in for extreme sports.
Why are extreme sports becoming more and more popular? I think people find ordinary sports too boring and unexciting. It is also known that extreme sports help to build character and form a strong personality.
What makes people risk their lives to do them?
In extreme sports people learn how to survive in difficult situations. It also develops patience and self-control, and helps to control your fear.

7. Most of the extreme sports can be described by such words as “risk, danger, injury” Many people think that extreme sports are very dangerous. But others disagree with that. On the other hands we can use such characteristics as “speed, excitement, bravery”
Ruslan, do you think that extreme sports are very dangerous?
- Of course they are very dangerous, but they are very exiting and attractive. People often get injured, break arms and legs, even risk their lives. You must be risk taker, brave and fearless to go in such sports.
What physical qualities do extreme sports develop? - Muhammad you.
- Extreme sports develop physical strength, courage, bravery, make people stronger, healthier, develop good balance and different sport skills. Extreme sports help to build character and form a strong personality.
8. Have you tried any extreme sports ? If not which of sports above would you like to try?
Aisha, Have you tried any extreme sports ?
-- Yes, last winter I was in Arhiz. I was there with my family. I saw there some winter extreme sports – snowboarding, ski jumping, ice climbing, snowrafting. As for me I tried snowboarding. You are surfing on a snowboard from the mountain. It was unforgettable. I liked it very much. Of course it was dangerous. But the most dangerous winter extreme sports is snowrafting. You sit in a rubber boat and ‘sail’ down a mountain at great speed and you can’t control the boat.
Albina, Have you tried any extreme sports ?
-- I was in Dombay several times. I was there with my father, mother and brother. High mountains covered with snow, evergreen firs and pines. The nature was really wonderful. In Dombay I saw ice climbing and ski jumping. As for me I tried skiing. First I was afraid. But my father helped me to learn to ski. Of course extreme sports develop certain character qualities such as brave, risk taker, fun lover. But I wouldn’t like to try them, because they are very dangerous.
I have not tried any of these sports. But I would like to try Mountain Biking. For this you only need a moto bike and certain character qualities such as brave, risk taker. And of course our beautiful mountains…

9. Your homework was to write a story about one of the extreme sports. Let's see how you did your homework.
10. Open your books on page 39 ex. 7.
And now look at the screen and remember the words. Please write down them into your vocabularies.
