Тема: «Language Kingdom».

Цели:

практическая:

  • закрепление изученного материала по теме «School»;

образовательная:

  • совершенствование лексических навыков;

воспитательные:

  • воспитание культуры общения;

  • поддержание интереса к изучению языка у учащихся;

  • развитие навыков самостоятельной работы;

развивающие:

  • развитие памяти у учащихся;

  • развитие логического мышления;

  • развитие языковой догадки.


Оборудование: карточки с заданиями; картинки, соответствующие тематике мероприятия; доска и мел; записи на доске; грамоты.





« Language Kingdom»



Good afternoon, boys and girls! I'm glad to see you all. Sit down, please.

Today we'll have an unusual lesson. It will be a competition. Today we'll go on a trip to Language Kingdom. In this Kingdom lives the King of Knowledge. During our trip you are to do all his tasks. We won't go there on foot, because we have three carriages. I'll divide you into three teams. So, we have Team №1, Team №2 and Team №3. Let me introduce our jury: Elza Magafurovna and Gulnaz Halilovna.

But before we start our trip, you should give a promise to a King of Knowledge, because it's very important for him.



Let's read our promise.







My Promise



Each day I'll do my best,
And I won't do any less.

.I'll always do my homework,
And I'll try on every test.

And I won't forget my promise-
To do my very best!

1.The first stop is a village. Heavy rain and strong wind mixed up all the letters of the streets' names. Let's help the inhabitants to reconstruct these names.

Make up a word.

Street 1 – Argument

Street 2 – Teacher

Street 3 – Problem.



2. In this village live the twins. Their names are Quite and Quiet. People always mix them up. But they are different. And we shouldn't offend them when we meet them. Let's find out who is who.

Quite or Quiet

1.My room is … big. (quite)

2.Peter is a clever and … person. (quiet)

3.Their family is … and friendly. (quiet)

4.This task is … easy for you. (quite)

5.My Mom always speaks with a … voice. (quiet)

6.This dress is … nice, but I think your blue dress is better. (quite)



3. The King has puzzles for you. These are the ancient letters. Your task is to find out what is written there.

Make up sentences.

1.Boy, real, our, is, class, in, troublemaker, a, this.

2.Have, at, lights, all, the, stopped, the, cars, traffic.

3.This, should, up, go, street, you.



The answers:

(1.This boy is a real troublemaker in our class.)

(2. All the cars have stopped at the traffic-lights.)

4. Now we have a special task from the adviser of the king. He is too old and he always forgets all advice he gives. You must help him.

Complete the sentence with should or shouldn't.

1.You … be late for your classes. (shouldn't)

3.You … be attentive to your friends' problems. (should)

4.You … get on well with your family. (should)

5.You … be honest with your friend. (should)

6.You … eat too much. (shouldn't)

5. Now boys and girls, the King of Knowledge wants to ask you some questions.


Give short answers. Use: must / should / mustn't / shouldn't / needn't.

2.Should we do this exercise?

… (Нет, нельзя. Школа закрыта). (No, you mustn't. The school is closed.)








6. The King of Knowledge has two assistants Learn and Study. They are alike, but they work in different places.


Learn or Study

7. The last task is left for you. The King of Knowledge knows that you are school students. And he is interested to know how do you get to school.


Make up a situation (short story) "How do you get to school?" using :


  • It takes me some time to get (to do) something;

  • I am allowed (I am not allowed) to do something;

  • To go up / down;

  • To go straight;

  • To go across;

  • To turn right;

  • To turn left;

  • Along;

  • At the end of the street.
